The "Sweet Istria" festival event holds a special place and meaning within the range of efforts for achieving culinary and gastronomic recognition of Slovenia. This thematic culinary event in Koper fills a significant gap in the field of recognising sweets that represents the preservation and continuation of sweet masterpieces by our ancestors, while at the same time, it brings new forms of modern creative quests.

The first Sweet Istria featured the "old" and "newer" Sweet Istria. The response was extremely positive. We shouldn't forget that typical Istrian sweets are also a part of our cultural heritage and are therefore should, by all means, be revived, prepared and presented to the general public.

Sweet Istria is an event that certainly represents added value to Koper and Istria. Judging by last year's attendance, it was well accepted among visitors, who were delighted by the event. It is nice to find so many various suppliers of sweets in one place. Along with the Sweet Istria contest, the event also promotes the innovation of chefs. I also enjoyed a few sweet moments under the warm sun; this event is certainly worth visiting.
Sweet Istria represents a young event in the Municipality of Koper. With its inexhaustible energy, it combines everyone trusting in the speciality of tastes of this rich sunny land. Together with our co-workers in LifeClass hotels, we attended the festival last year with excitement and with a genuine wish to contribute to the variety and recognition of traditional and modern forms of sweet pampering of our visitors and guests. It was both instructive and entertaining. We attended the event with a top-level team of pastry cooks and with an innate feeling of hospitality. Since then, we have learned to appreciate the goods of Istrian soil even more and have taken delight in reviving valuable habits in any form.
